Aim of the Department

The aim of the horticulture program is to train manpower to work on the cultivation of various vegetables and fruits in vineyards and gardens with scientific methods, development of species, collection, protection and marketing of products and to conduct research.

Required Qualifications

People who want to work in the field of horticulture are expected to be interested in basic sciences and especially botany and to be successful in this field, to enjoy working outdoors, to be curious about research and investigation.

Titles and Occupations of Graduates

Graduates of the horticulture program are given the title of "Agricultural Engineer". An agricultural engineer trained in the field of horticulture conducts seed breeding studies for experiments to improve the production of horticultural crops such as planting time of horticultural crops, the type of fertilizer to be used, the adaptation of products to different climates and soils, plant diseases, high-yielding and high-quality fruit trees, vegetables and ornamental plants; develops methods for the collection, storage and marketing of horticultural products.
